They Were You is a new song cycle/review of the songs of Broadway legends Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. This production was the world premiere of a new devised work shaped and molded by the director who wove the songs into a dramatic arc that alluded to, but did not quote, recurring motifs, themes, and situations from all of the shows of Jones and Schmidt.

The set design was an embodiment of elemental forms, simple truths, and the seasons, all qualities that resonate in the songs of Jones and Schmidt.
