Based in southern Ohio, U.S.A. the Umfrid Studio is entering its fourth decade of professional practice.

Principal designer Thomas C. Umfrid, also serves as Professor of Stage Design and Resident Designer at the College-Conservatory of Music/CCM, University of Cincinnati. 

An impassioned believer in the symbiotic essence and necessity of theatrical performance, Umfrid embraces a multi faceted and broad based approach to theatrical design ever mindful of the overarching theatrical moment, the needs of the performer, and supportive of the directorial concept.
